JAMB UTME subject combination for Common and Islamic Law

JAMB UTME Subjects for Common and Islamic Law

Candidates applying for Common and Islamic Law should select the required UTME subjects for the programme. Use of English is included as the compulsory English subject. The general subject combination is:
  • Use of English
  • Any three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects including Arabic or Islamic Studies
In other words, candidates should register Use of English together with three Arts or Social Science subjects, making sure that Arabic or Islamic Studies is included among the three subjects.

University-Specific UTME Requirements

Some universities have additional or more specific subject requirements for Common and Islamic Law. Bayero University, for example, requires Islamic Studies/Arabic and Literature-in-English for Common and Islamic Law. The University of Ilorin requires any three Arts or Social Sciences subjects which must include Arabic or Islamic Studies. Ahmadu Bello University has its own specific combination of Use of English, IRK/Arabic and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects. Candidates should therefore check the requirement of their chosen university before making their final JAMB subject selection.
