Contents
The general Direct Entry structure attached to the Creative Arts entry provides more than one route for candidates who already hold relevant post-secondary qualifications.
General Direct Entry Qualifications
- Two A' Level passes in Arts or Fine Arts and any other subject
- ND Upper Credit from a recognised institution

The qualification must be considered together with the other admission conditions applicable to the institution and course entry.
Some Institutions Have Additional Conditions
The JAMB admission information provides institution-specific Direct Entry variations within the Creative Arts-related entry.
At University of Lagos (LAGOS), candidates may use very good passes in three JUPEB/A' Level subjects, with the required subjects depending on the option. For Theatre Arts, this includes Literature in English and any two of Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, French, History, Government, Music and Visual Arts. For Visual Arts, it includes Visual Arts and any two of Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, French, History, Government and Music. For Music, it includes Music and any two from Literature in English, Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, French, History, Government, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Mathematics and Visual Arts.
LAGOS also accepts HND/OND at Upper Credit Level in Drama/Theatre and Music, NCE Music, and specified Diploma or Advanced Level qualifications in Music from recognised institutions including the Royal School of Music, Trinity College and MUSON.
For University of Port Harcourt (PHC), the brochure provides Direct Entry routes involving A/Level passes in GCE, HSC, IJMB or JUPEB in two Art subjects including Literature in English, alongside the UTME entry requirements. It also lists NCE in two Arts subjects including English Language, with an overall Merit-level pass from a recognised College of Education.
For University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), the listed routes include three GCE A' Level passes in Fine Arts or Technical Drawing with the UTME requirements, HND with an average of B grade with the UTME requirements for entry into 300 level, and ND credit or NCE Merit with the UTME requirements. Candidates may also be interviewed.
Choose the Correct Direct Entry Route
A Direct Entry qualification accepted by one institution should not automatically be assumed to apply to another. The JAMB brochure preserves these institutional differences, so candidates should compare their qualification with the exact entry for their chosen university.
