Contents
Creative Arts at the University of Lagos
The University of Lagos (LAGOS) is one of the institutions listed for Creative Arts in the JAMB brochure. The programme covers creative options including Visual Arts, Music, Theatre Arts and Film Studies.
UTME Subjects
Candidates should take Fine Arts and two other Arts or Social Science subjects for the course-specific UTME combination.
O'Level Requirement
The basic requirement is five SSC credit passes, including English Language and Fine Arts.
Direct Entry Options at LAGOS
The University of Lagos has detailed provisions depending on the creative area involved.
Theatre Arts
Very good passes are required in three JUPEB/A' Level subjects, including Literature in English and any two from Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, French, History, Government, Music and Visual Arts.
Visual Arts
Very good passes are required in three JUPEB/A' Level subjects, with Visual Arts included and two other subjects selected from the specified list.
Music
Music is required together with any two from the subjects listed by the university, including Literature in English, Nigerian languages, CRS/IRS, French, History, Government, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Mathematics and Visual Arts.
Other Direct Entry Qualifications
LAGOS also accepts HND/OND at Upper Credit Level in Drama/Theatre and Music. NCE Music is accepted, as well as Diploma or Advanced Level qualifications in Music from the Royal School of Music, London, Trinity College, London and MUSON.
Special Consideration
The detailed LAGOS provisions are particularly important because the Direct Entry route is not presented as one identical qualification for every creative option. Candidates should identify whether they are pursuing the Theatre Arts, Visual Arts or Music pathway and use the corresponding condition.
