Direct Entry Requirements for Business Management
Contents
The General Direct Entry Route
The general Direct Entry requirement for Business Management is two (2) A' Level passes chosen from Economics, Accounts, Business Management, Government, Geography or Statistics.
Other Qualifications May Also Lead to Direct Entry
Universities may accept other recognised qualifications for the programme. Depending on the institution, these can include ND, NCE, HND, IJMB, JUPEB and certain professional qualifications.
Grades and Relevant Fields Matter
It is not enough to possess a higher qualification. A university may specify a particular grade, relevant programme or subject combination. Some institutions also require Direct Entry candidates to satisfy the normal UTME requirements.
Examples From the Admission Information
EBSU accepts HND, NCE or ND with passes at merit/credit level in relevant programmes, with the ND required to be at upper credit level. FED-DUTSINMA accepts specified A' Level combinations as well as ND/NCE with good grades in Business Management from a recognised institution.
PHC has a broader Direct Entry arrangement involving Advanced Level qualifications, OND, HND and NCE in specified related programmes, while UYO accepts HND at lower credit and ND at upper credit in relevant programmes.
What About A' Level, ND, NCE and HND?
These qualifications are therefore part of the Direct Entry discussion rather than separate admission routes that should be treated independently. The important thing is to match your qualification to the exact condition of the university you are applying to.
Check Before Applying
Direct Entry requirements can vary considerably from one institution to another. Candidates should confirm the accepted qualification, grade, relevant programme and any additional UTME or O'Level condition before applying.
