Direct Entry admission into Economics has a general qualification stated in the JAMB brochure, with an additional institution-specific condition for Federal University Wukari.
General Direct Entry Requirement
The Economics entry accepts ND/NCE with Upper/Merit Credit in the relevant programme, in addition to the required five (5) O'Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings.
This means a Direct Entry candidate should not consider the ND or NCE qualification alone. The specified O'Level requirements also form part of the entry condition.
Federal University Wukari: Additional Direct Entry Condition
Federal University Wukari has a specific Direct Entry condition in the Economics entry. Candidates must have a pass in two A' Level subjects, with one of the subjects being Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government or Geography.
The brochure specifies that these A' Level subjects may be obtained through GCE A/L, IJMB or Advanced NABTEB. It also recognises a Merit pass at NCE level or at least a Credit in OND/HND in relevant fields. Candidates must additionally satisfy the O'Level requirement for admission.
Keeping the Requirements Separate
The Federal University Wukari condition should not be presented as though it applies to every institution offering Economics. It is an institution-specific condition attached to Wukari's entry.
