History and Archaeology O'Level SSCE requirements in Art/Humanities

The JAMB admission table places Archaeology/History with the Archaeology entry and provides five SSCE credit passes, including English Language and one of Religious Studies, Geography, Economics or History.

How Many O'Level Credits Are Required?

Candidates should have five SSCE credit passes.

Compulsory Subject Included in the Requirement

English Language must be among the five required credits.

One Relevant Subject

The stated requirement also includes one of the following subjects:

  • Religious Studies
  • Geography
  • Economics
  • History

A candidate does not need all four of these subjects to satisfy this particular part of the requirement. The brochure specifies one of them.

Check Your SSCE Result Carefully

Having five credits alone is not enough if the specified subjects are missing. Candidates should compare their result with the stated requirements before selecting the programme.

O'Level and UTME Are Different

The O'Level requirement concerns the candidate's secondary school result, while the UTME combination concerns the subjects selected for JAMB. Both should be checked separately.

The detailed admission table should be used when confirming the applicable requirements for the programme.
