Mass Communication Direct Entry Requirements for Art/Humanities Candidates
Contents
For Direct Entry candidates, the JAMB admission table gives a general requirement of two (2) A' Level passes in relevant subjects for Mass Communication. However, some institutions have additional or more specific conditions that should be considered separately.
General Direct Entry Requirement
The general DE structure provided for Mass Communication is:
- Two (2) A' Level passes in relevant subjects
Institution-Specific Direct Entry Conditions
Ajayi
Ajayi requires two (2) A' Level passes or their equivalent in Literature in English and one other Arts or Social Science subject, together with three (3) O'Level credit passes.
UNN
For UNN, Direct Entry candidates must possess HSC/GCE A' Level with passes in two (2) Arts subjects, in addition to the UTME requirements.
Jos
Jos accepts the same Direct Entry qualification specified for Mass Communication, with an additional O'Level pass in Mathematics.
Why the School Matters
Although the general entry structure gives candidates a useful starting point, the institution-specific conditions show why Direct Entry applicants should check their chosen school carefully. The qualification accepted by Ajayi, for example, is more specifically tied to Literature in English and another Arts or Social Science subject, while UNN has its own A' Level subject requirement.
For Direct Entry Applicants
Do not combine the requirements of different institutions into one DE requirement. Your qualification should be assessed against the exact conditions attached to the university or institution you intend to select.
