Mass Communication UTME Subject Combination in Art/Humanities
Contents
The general UTME subject combination shown for Mass Communication in the JAMB Arts/Humanities admission table is any three (3) Arts and Social Science subjects. This is the general structure printed in the UTME Subjects column for the programme.
JAMB Subjects for Mass Communication
The brochure presents the combination as:
- Any three (3) Arts and Social Science subjects
Candidates should understand this wording as three subjects selected from the Arts and Social Sciences, rather than treating a particular three-subject combination as universally compulsory for every institution listed under Mass Communication.
Institution-Specific UTME Conditions
The special-consideration section adds some institution-specific conditions. For Bingham and Jos, the admission information requires Literature in English. For UNN, candidates are required to have Literature in English and any two subjects, with at least one of the two being from the Arts or Social Sciences.
These conditions should not be turned into one universal combination for every Mass Communication applicant. They are institution-specific conditions attached to the admission information.
What This Means for Candidates
A candidate should first identify the institution being selected and then check whether an additional subject condition applies. For example, a candidate applying to UNN should pay attention to the specific Literature in English condition rather than relying only on the general three-subject structure.
Before You Choose Your Subjects
It is important not to confuse the UTME subjects with the O'Level requirements. The O'Level section contains additional conditions, including institution-specific requirements involving Literature in English, Mathematics and other subjects.
For the complete subject requirements and institution-specific conditions, candidates should consult the admission document below.
