Music O'Level Requirements for Art/Humanities Admission
The general Music entry requires five SSCE credit passes including Music and English Language.
General O'Level Requirement for Music
- Five SSCE credit passes
- Music must be included
- English Language must be included
Institutional Differences Matter
The JAMB admission information contains several important variations. For example, DELSU does not insist on an O'Level credit pass in Music. The University of Ibadan and Obafemi Awolowo University also state that an O'Level credit in Music is not compulsory.
For UNIZIK, an O'Level credit in Music is not required, while the institution accepts an O'Level pass in English Language.
UYO also does not insist on a credit pass in Music at O'Level. The brochure notes that an ABRSM Grade V or MUSON Grade V certificate can be an added advantage.
Other institutions have their own subject structures. PHC, for example, accepts five credits in English Language and any other four subjects from a specified list.
Before Registration
Music candidates should therefore avoid relying on a single general O'Level statement when applying to a particular university. The institution-specific condition is the one that should guide the application.
