O’Level certificate and study materials for Banking, Finance and Insurance applicants

Before applying for Banking, Finance and Insurance, candidates should check their WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent results against the programme requirement. The stated requirement is five SSC credit passes.

The general O’Level requirement

Candidates need five SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other relevant subjects. The source also gives a specific list of relevant subjects for NBC candidates.

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Economics
  • Two other relevant subjects

For NBC, the other relevant subjects listed include Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography and Statistics.

Check your result before choosing the course

It is better to confirm this before completing your application rather than discovering later that a required subject is missing. Candidates should also remember that an institution may publish additional conditions for its own admission process.

Where a university has a special requirement, that institution-specific condition should be followed instead of assuming that every school handles the programme in exactly the same way.
