Philosophy and Religious Studies O'Level requirements under Art/Humanities

O'Level Requirement for Philosophy and Religious Studies

The JAMB brochure lists Philosophy and Religious Studies as a separate course and names six institutions under the programme: AAUA, ABUAD, BOUEDST, COAL-CITY, GOUU and HENSARD.

However, the O'Level requirement column is not populated for this exact course entry in the supplied brochure pages. The detailed O'Level requirements appearing around pages 233 and 234 belong to the preceding admission entry and should not be automatically transferred to Philosophy and Religious Studies.

Why Candidates Should Not Assume the Requirement

Related programmes in the same Art/Humanities section have different admission conditions. The brochure itself treats Philosophy, Philosophy and Religious Studies, Religions and African Culture and African Traditional Religion as separate course entries.

It would therefore be inaccurate to take the O'Level requirements stated for Philosophy or another religion-related programme and present them as the requirement for Philosophy and Religious Studies.

What This Means for Applicants

Candidates should confirm the current O'Level conditions applicable to the exact institution and course before relying on a particular subject combination or credit requirement. The supplied brochure does not provide enough course-specific information in the exact Philosophy and Religious Studies row to state an O'Level requirement without making an unsupported assumption.
