Schools and Universities Offering Foreign Language and Literature in Art/Humanities in Nigeria

Where Can You Study Foreign Language and Literature?
Foreign Language and Literature appears in the Arts/Humanities course listings in the JAMB brochure. The brochure also presents individual foreign-language entries, so candidates should pay attention to the exact programme name when checking the institutions available.
Institutions Listed Under the Foreign-Language Entry
The brochure's foreign-language section identifies institutions associated with German, including:
- University of Ibadan (IBADAN)
- University of Lagos (LAGOS)
- Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)
Why the Exact Course Name Matters
The Arts/Humanities brochure contains several closely related language programmes. French, German, French with German/Russian, French and International Studies and other language combinations appear as separate course entries.
This distinction is important because the admission requirements and special considerations can change from one programme to another. A candidate should therefore confirm that the course selected in JAMB corresponds exactly with the programme offered by the institution.
Choosing a School
When comparing the available institutions, candidates should consider the foreign language offered, the university's admission conditions and the admission route they intend to use. Direct Entry applicants should pay particular attention to the qualification accepted by their preferred institution.
The JAMB brochure provides the institutional information used for this list. Candidates who need to examine the requirements in greater detail can consult the document below.
