Common and Islamic Law at the University of Ilorin

The University of Ilorin has specific requirements for candidates seeking admission into Common and Islamic Law. Candidates should pay attention to its requirements for UTME subjects, O'Level credits and Direct Entry qualifications.

JAMB UTME Subjects

The University of Ilorin requires any three (3) Arts or Social Sciences subjects which must include Arabic or Islamic Studies. Use of English should also be included as the compulsory English subject.

O'Level Requirements

Candidates require five (5) O'Level credit passes in Arts/Social Sciences subjects including:
  • English Language
  • Arabic or Islamic Studies
  • Mathematics

Direct Entry Qualifications

The University of Ilorin accepts:
  • At least two (2) A' Level passes in GCE/IJMB or its equivalent in Arts or Social Science subjects, one of which must include Arabic or Islamic Studies.
  • Diploma in Law (Upper Credit) from recognised institutions.
  • First Degree from a recognised university.
The university may also consider HND, A.C.I.S., ACA, A.C.C., LL.B (Inter) of the University of London and NCE in lieu of A' Level subjects, subject to its stated conditions.
