African and Asian Studies at UNIZIK: UTME, O'Level and Direct Entry Requirements

Studying African and Asian Studies at UNIZIK

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) is the institution covered in this admission guide for African and Asian Studies. Candidates interested in the programme should understand the requirements attached to the admission route they intend to use.

UTME Subject Combination

The JAMB UTME subjects combination for African and Asian Studies is:

• English Language
• History or Government
• Literature in English
• CRS/IRS or Economics

English Language is compulsory in the combination, while the other subjects provide the relevant Arts and Social Science foundation for the course.

O'Level Requirements

Candidates require five O'Level credit passes. The required subjects include English Language and an appropriate African, Asian, Nigerian or foreign language, with other relevant subjects coming from Arts, Social Sciences or Sciences as applicable.

Direct Entry

Candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry should use the qualifications applicable to the DE route rather than the UTME combination.

The Direct Entry routes include relevant A' Level qualifications, relevant ND or HND qualifications and NCE qualifications where the required subject area and grade are satisfied.

For UTME Candidates

UTME candidates should check both their JAMB subject selection and their O'Level result. Having the appropriate UTME combination does not remove the need to satisfy the O'Level requirements.

For Direct Entry Candidates

Direct Entry candidates should identify the higher qualification they intend to present and verify that it is relevant to the course. The qualification, subject area and grade should all be considered.
