Anthropology UTME Subjects Combination
Contents
JAMB Subjects for Anthropology
If Anthropology is your intended course, choosing the right subjects for UTME should be part of your admission preparation. The combination contains English Language together with three subjects selected from the approved course-related options.
The Required Combination
English Language is compulsory. In addition, candidates should choose any three from:
- History
- CRS/IRS
- Geography
- Economics
- Literature in English
- French
This gives the candidate four UTME subjects in total: English Language plus three from the listed options.
Understanding the Choice
Candidates do not need to select all six course-related subjects. The requirement is to choose three.
For example, History, Geography and Economics can form the three selected subjects, while English Language remains compulsory.
What Does CRS/IRS Mean?
CRS/IRS represents an alternative between Christian Religious Studies and Islamic Religious Studies. A candidate chooses one of the two rather than treating them as two separate subjects.
Why the Combination Matters
A UTME subject combination is part of the eligibility requirements for a course. Candidates who have already decided on Anthropology should therefore make sure their JAMB registration reflects the required subjects.
Examples of Possible Choices
- English Language, History, Geography and Economics
- English Language, History, Literature in English and French
- English Language, CRS/IRS, Geography and Literature in English
- English Language, Economics, Literature in English and French
The examples show how English Language is combined with any three of the available course-related subjects.
Do Not Confuse This With the O'Level Requirement
The JAMB combination concerns the subjects registered for UTME. Your O'Level requirement concerns the credits obtained in your SSCE result.
Both are important, but they are not the same requirement.
