O'Level Requirements for Fine Art/Fine and Applied Arts
Candidates seeking admission into Fine Arts/Fine and Applied Arts through UTME are required to meet the O'Level conditions attached to the course.
The general requirement is five SSCE credit passes to include English Language and Fine Arts.
Required Subjects
- English Language
- Fine Arts
- Three other relevant subjects
The JAMB brochure also provides special information for candidates presenting technical qualifications such as NTC. Relevant technical subjects may include areas such as general woodwork, building or engineering drawing, decorative painting, graphic design, ceramics, printing, weaving and related practical subjects.
Is Fine Arts Compulsory?
Under the general requirement, Fine Arts is specifically included among the five required SSCE credits. However, individual institutions may have additional provisions or special considerations, so candidates should check the entry for their chosen university.
Why Candidates Should Check Institutional Requirements
The general requirement does not necessarily represent every condition attached to every institution. Some universities have additional requirements for their Fine Arts-related programmes.
For example, the brochure records special provisions for institutions such as UNN, including specific subject requirements and alternative conditions for candidates with technical qualifications.
Before Applying
Compare your O'Level result with the requirements of your preferred institution before submitting your JAMB application. Pay particular attention to English Language, Fine Arts and any additional subjects required by the university.
