Foreign Language and Literature Direct Entry requirements in Art/Humanities

Direct Entry Route for Foreign Language and Literature

The general Direct Entry provision in the brochure requires two A' Level passes including the Foreign Language(s), where applicable.

What This Means

The requirement is designed for candidates who already possess an advanced qualification and want to enter the degree programme through Direct Entry rather than the standard UTME route.

The important point is that the relevant foreign language should be represented in the accepted qualification where the institution requires it.

Institution-Specific Conditions

The brochure contains additional provisions for individual institutions. These conditions can include specific qualifications, subjects or alternative routes, so Direct Entry applicants should not rely only on the general requirement.

For example, the foreign-language section records institution-specific information for University of Lagos, including acceptance of very good passes in JUPEB/A' Level subjects involving three subjects selected from French, Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, History, Government, Literature-in-English and Music.

The brochure also indicates that two A' Level passes including the Foreign Language(s), where applicable form part of the general Direct Entry structure.

Before Applying Through Direct Entry

Direct Entry candidates should first identify the exact institution and course, then compare their qualification with the school's stated requirement. A qualification accepted by one university may not automatically be accepted by another.

Candidates who want to examine the requirements in greater detail can consult the admission document below.
