Foreign Language and Literature O'Level requirements in Art/Humanities

O'Level Requirements for Foreign Language and Literature

The brochure gives an O'Level structure for the foreign-language entry that requires five SSCE credit passes to include French, English Language and any three other subjects.

Required Subjects

  • French
  • English Language
  • Any three other subjects

The five credits therefore consist of the two specifically named subjects together with three additional subjects.

What Candidates Should Note

The O'Level requirement should not be confused with the UTME combination. The UTME requirement deals with the subjects candidates select for the JAMB examination, while the O'Level requirement concerns the credits obtained in an SSCE or equivalent qualification.

The brochure also records institution-specific variations and waivers in the foreign-language section. Candidates should therefore check the entry for their preferred university instead of assuming that the general requirement applies without modification.

Check Your Result Before Applying

Candidates should carefully compare their SSCE result with the required subjects before completing their application. Where a university has a special O'Level condition, that condition should also be considered.
