Business Administration Direct Entry
Direct Entry is an alternative admission route for candidates who already hold recognised qualifications beyond the ordinary secondary-school qualification. The qualification accepted depends on the university.
Qualifications Commonly Seen in Direct Entry Requirements
- A' Level passes
- National Diploma (ND)
- Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)
- Higher National Diploma (HND)
- IJMB
- JUPEB
- Professional qualifications
Grades Are Important
Possessing the right type of qualification is not always enough. Universities may specify upper credit, lower credit, merit, a particular number of points or specific subjects.
Examples of Institutional Conditions
University of Abuja accepts two A' Level passes in Economics and Commerce, NCE or ND at upper credit level, or ten points in IJMB in relevant subjects, together with the required O'Level conditions.
OOU accepts NCE, ND and HND. Nasarawa accepts HND at lower credit, AIB or other professional qualifications in relevant programmes, or IJMB in relevant subjects not below ten points.
Wellspring accepts ND, NCE, IJMB, NABTEB A' Level and HND passes at credit/lower credit level in relevant subjects or programmes, in addition to the O'Level requirements.
Always Check the University
Direct Entry rules are institution-specific. Candidates should check the exact qualification, grade, subject and UTME conditions applicable to their chosen university.
