The JAMB brochure lists Hausa under Arts/Humanities and provides the UTME subject combination for the programme. Candidates should pay attention to the fact that some institutions have specific variations in their UTME subject requirements.
Hausa UTME Subject Combination
The general UTME subjects listed for Hausa are Hausa, Literature in English and any one of Economics, Government, History or Arabic.

Institution-Specific UTME Variations
The brochure shows several variations. For example, Bayero University and Usmanu Danfodiyo University accept Hausa plus any other two Arts subjects.
Kaduna State University requires Hausa and two other subjects in Arts or Social Sciences, while Sule Lamido University accepts Hausa plus any two Arts and/or Social Science subjects.
Federal University Gusau requires Hausa and two Arts subjects, while University of Maiduguri accepts any three subjects.
Umaru Musa Yar'Adua University requires Hausa and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects. Ahmadu Bello University requires Use of English, Hausa and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects.
For Federal University Kashere, the listed combination is Hausa, one Art subject and one subject from Economics, French, Geography, Government, History or Literature in English. Sokoto State University accepts Hausa and any two other Arts or Social Science subjects, while Federal University Dutsin-Ma requires English Language, Hausa and any two Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
Avoid Mixing UTME and O'Level Subjects
