History and International Studies O'Level requirements in Art/Humanities

The general O'Level requirement shown for History and International Studies is five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Geography and Government/History. The course entry then indicates History/Government and any other two subjects from the Arts and Social Sciences.

General O'Level Requirement

  • English Language
  • Geography
  • History or Government
  • Any other two subjects from the Arts and Social Sciences

This gives the five required credits while preserving the alternatives shown in the course entry.

Institution-Specific Conditions

The brochure also contains institution-specific special considerations. For example, LASU has a specific O'Level condition requiring five credits at not more than two sittings, including English Language and History or Government, together with the stated performance condition.

Other institution-specific remarks also occur in the exact course section. Candidates should therefore check the individual institution rather than assuming that every school applies exactly the same O'Level condition.

Do Not Confuse O'Level with UTME Subjects

The O'Level requirement is different from the UTME combination. For example, Geography appears in the general O'Level requirement, while the UTME row provides History/Government and any other two Arts and Social Sciences subjects.

Before You Apply

Use the exact institution-specific entry when checking your SSCE result against the programme. Where the brochure provides a special consideration, that condition should be treated as belonging to the named institution only.
