Institution-Specific Requirements Matter
For example, ABU requires five O'Level credit passes including English Language and History or Government. FED-DUTSINMA requires credits including History/Government/Civic Education, English Language and Mathematics plus two other subjects from Arts or Social Sciences.
FED-LOKOJA requires five credits including History/Government and English Language plus three other subjects from Arts or Social Sciences. IBADAN accepts five credits at one sitting or six at two sittings, including English Language, History and Government, with the sixth subject potentially coming from Science.
KASU requires five credits including English Language, Mathematics, History or Government and two other Arts or Social Science subjects. LAGOS requires English Language, Mathematics, History/Government and any two of Literature in English, CRS/IRS, Civic Education and any Nigerian Language.

OAU requires five credits including History and English Language, plus one Arts subject and two other subjects from Arts or Social Sciences, while Government is accepted in lieu of History. UNN also provides an acceptance of Government in lieu of History in one of its listed conditions.
The requirements should therefore not be reduced to a single generic statement when a candidate already knows the institution they intend to attend.
