O'Level Requirements for International Relations

Candidates seeking admission to study International Relations through UTME are required to have five (5) SSC credit passes.

The requirements include:

  • English Language
  • Government
  • Mathematics
  • Any other two (2) relevant subjects

In total, the candidate must have five (5) SSC credit passes, with English Language, Government and Mathematics specifically included.

OAU O'Level Requirement for International Relations

For International Relations at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), the special consideration states that candidates require five (5) O'Level credit passes which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government and two other subjects from History, Economics, Geography and Literature in English.

Subjects Accepted Under the OAU Condition

The two additional subjects can therefore be selected from:

  • History
  • Economics
  • Geography
  • Literature in English

Candidates applying to OAU should compare their O'Level result with these requirements before applying for the programme.

Why the O'Level Subjects Matter

Your O'Level result is an important part of the admission process. Having the required number of credits is not enough if the compulsory subjects are missing. Candidates should therefore check specifically for English Language, Government and Mathematics, as well as the additional relevant subjects required by the institution.

The O'Level requirement is separate from the JAMB UTME subject combination, so candidates should check both requirements independently when preparing for admission.
