Islamic Studies Direct Entry Requirements for Art/Humanities Candidates

The general Direct Entry requirement attached to Islamic Studies is two A' Level passes to include Islamic Studies. The brochure also provides additional Direct Entry conditions for a number of institutions.
General Direct Entry Requirement
The basic qualification shown in the course entry is:
- Two A' Level passes to include Islamic Studies
Institution-Specific Direct Entry Conditions
- ABUJA: minimum of 10 points in NCE Merit or ND Upper Credit in addition to the UTME requirements.
- ILORIN: Diploma from Bayero University, Kano satisfies both A' Level and O'Level admission requirements; candidates who did not offer Islamic Studies at UTME but meet the UTME entry requirements may be considered for 100 level; Senior Islamic Studies Certificates are accepted as entry qualifications for Islamic Studies and related programmes.
- KWASU: same as the Arabic Studies Direct Entry provision stated in the brochure.
- LASU: at least two A' Level passes including Islamic Studies plus not less than five O'Level credits including English Language at not more than two sittings; NCE Merit in Islamic Studies plus five O'Level credits in other relevant subjects including English Language is also accepted.
- OOU: UTME requirements are required in addition to the Direct Entry requirements.
- IBADAN: NCE Merit in Islamic Studies and other Arts or Social Science subjects is accepted.
- TSUJ: NCE Merit in Arabic and Islamic Studies is accepted.
- UMYUK: minimum of 9 points in IJMB/HSC/GCE A' Level/NCE in Islamic Studies and another relevant subject; lower credit in Diploma in Islamic Studies, Combined Arabic and Islamic Studies or Shari'a from recognised institutions may also be accepted.
- LAGOS: GCE A' Level passes or equivalents, with one A' Level subject being Islamic Studies; NCE with Credit or Merit in Islamic Studies is also accepted.
- FED-KASHERE: two A' Level Credit passes in Islamic Studies and another relevant subject or NCE/Diploma with Credit passes in relevant subjects.
- KASU: two A' Level passes including Islamic Studies and another relevant subject; NCE/Senior Islamic Studies Certificate with Merit in Islamic Religious Knowledge and other relevant subjects; IJMB with 7 points and above or Lower Credit in National Diploma in addition to O'Level requirements.
- SOSU: NCE/Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies or Diploma in Shari'a with a minimum of Merit.
- FED-DUTSINMA: two A' Level passes in Islamic Studies and one other Arts subject; ND/NCE with good grades in the relevant area.
These qualifications are institution-specific and should not be treated as universal requirements for every university offering Islamic Studies.
