JAMB UTME subject combination for studying Marketing

What Subjects Should You Choose for Marketing?

For Marketing, the general UTME subject requirements are Mathematics, Economics plus one (1) other subject.

Since Use of English is compulsory for UTME candidates, the site-facing combination is:

Use of English, Mathematics, Economics and one (1) other subject.

The Fourth Subject

The fourth subject is not necessarily the same at every university. Some institutions specify the particular subjects they accept for Marketing.

For example, the information provided for different institutions includes combinations involving Management or Social Science subjects, Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Business Methods, Statistics, Government and Economics.

Some University-Specific Variations

  • ABU: Use of English, Economics, Mathematics and any Management or Social Science subject.
  • JOS: Mathematics and any other two subjects from Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Business Methods, Statistics, Government or Economics, in addition to the compulsory Use of English.
  • UNIZIK: Mathematics, Economics plus any other Arts/Social Science subject.
  • DELSU: Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and one other Social Science subject, alongside Use of English.
  • PHC: Mathematics, Economics and any other subject from the specified Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Accounting, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and Physics options.

Since requirements can differ from one university to another, candidates should check the specific requirement for the institution they intend to apply to rather than assuming that one fourth subject applies everywhere.
