Marketing O'Level admission requirements including English Language and Mathematics

O'Level Subjects Required for Marketing

The general requirement listed for Marketing is five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) relevant subjects.

What Counts as Relevant?

The exact combination can vary by institution. Depending on the university, accepted subjects may include Economics, Accounting, Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Business Methods, Statistics, Government and other relevant subjects.

Some universities also have additional conditions. For instance, ABU requires English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects. JOS specifies English Language, Mathematics and three subjects from Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Business Methods, Statistics, Government or Economics.

Important University Differences

  • IMSU: requires an O'Level credit pass in Economics.
  • DELSU: requires five credits obtained at not more than two sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two Social Science subjects.
  • RSU: requires English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two other subjects.
  • PHC: requires English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects from its listed range.
  • UNIZIK: has its own subject combination and should be checked separately when applying.

The safest approach is to compare your O'Level result with the specific university requirement before selecting Marketing as a programme.
