General O’Level Requirements for Public Administration

Candidates seeking admission to study Public Administration generally require five SSC credit passes to include:

• English Language
• Economics
• Government

For NBC holders, the other relevant subjects could be from Government, Economics and any other subject.

University-Specific O’Level Requirements for Public Administration

Some universities have additional O’Level requirements for Public Administration. Candidates should check the requirements applicable to their preferred institution.

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU)

Five O’Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Government or History, Economics and any one Management, Arts or Social Science subject.

Benue State University (BSU)

At least a pass in Mathematics is required.

University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN)

Candidates require the minimum entry requirements plus O’Level credit passes in English Language, Government or History and Mathematics. At least a pass in Mathematics is also required.

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU)

O’Level credit passes are required to include Mathematics.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK)

O’Level credit passes are required to include Mathematics.

Ebonyi State University (EBSU)

The requirement is stated as the same as that for Accountancy.

Nasarawa State University, Keffi

Nasarawa State University accepts History in lieu of Government.

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)

Obafemi Awolowo University requires English Language, Mathematics, Government, Economics, History and Geography.

Caritas University

Five O’Level credit passes to include English Language, Economics, Government, History, Accounting and Business Management, with a pass in Mathematics or Further Mathematics.

Lead City University (LCITY)

O’Level credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Economics, Government and any other two subjects.

Mountain Top University

Five O’Level credit passes at not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Government/History and any other subject. Candidates must also earn an acceptable score in the Post-UTME screening.
