Direct Entry Admission for Religious Studies
The general Direct Entry requirement shown for Religious Studies is two A' Level subjects including Religious Studies (CRS/IRS). Candidates seeking Direct Entry should also pay attention to the additional conditions attached to individual institutions.
Some Institutions Have Different DE Conditions
The brochure records several institution-specific options. AAU, for example, accepts two A' Level passes including CRS and one other Arts subject. AAUA accepts ND, NCE or two A' Level passes from Arts or Social Sciences. ABSU and DELSU accept NCE/ND/HND in Religious or Social Studies or A' Level in three subjects including Religious Studies.
Other recorded options include NCE, ND, HND, IJMB, JUPEB, recognised diplomas and other qualifications, depending on the institution.
Examples of Institution-Specific Conditions
- JOS: two- or three-year ND/NCE merit.
- MCPHERSON: NCE credit/merit and good passes in JUPEB/IJMB in relevant subjects.
- IMSU and PHC: no Direct Entry.
- OAU: two A' Level passes including CRS/IRS and accepts NCE in Religious Studies (CRS or IS).
- UNIZIK: NCE merit in Religious Studies with four O'Level credit passes in other subjects.
- UYO: two A' Level passes including CRS or NCE Merit in three subjects, including CRS.
The important point for Direct Entry candidates is that the requirements are not identical across all institutions. The specific school's entry conditions should therefore be checked before an application is submitted.
