English Language O'Level Requirements for Art/Humanities Admission

The general English Language entry requires five SSC credit passes to include Literature in English, English Language and three other Arts or Social Science subjects.
General O'Level Structure

There are, however, several institution-specific conditions. Candidates should not assume that the general structure is the complete requirement for every school listed under English Language.
Examples of Institutional Differences
ABU requires Literature in English, English Language and other Arts or Social Science subjects. AJAYI requires English Language, Literature in English, another Arts subject and two other subjects.
AUE and UYO require O'Level credit passes in Mathematics and two other Arts or Social Science subjects. EBSU and COVENANT also require Mathematics and two other Arts or Social Science subjects.
BAYERO requires Literature in English, English Language and three other Arts subjects, while FED-DUTSINMA requires Literature in English, English Language, Mathematics and two other Arts subjects.
IBADAN requires five or six O'Level credits at one or two sittings, including Literature in English, English Language, one other Arts subject and other subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Sciences.
OAU requires Literature in English, English Language, one other Arts subject and another subject. PHC accepts English Language, Literature in English and three other subjects from the specified list in the brochure.
Other Requirements to Note
- UMYUK: English Language, Literature in English, three other Arts/Social Sciences subjects and Mathematics.
- UNIKINGS and REDEEMERS: English Language, Literature in English and a pass in Mathematics.
- EUI: Literature in English, English Language, Mathematics and two other Arts or Social Science subjects.
- MOUNTAIN TOP: five O'Level credits at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English and other Arts or Social Science subjects.
- IAUED: English Language, Mathematics, Literature, History, Christian Religious Studies and another Arts subject.
- FED-WUKARI: English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English and two other relevant Arts or Social Science subjects at not more than two sittings.
- RSU: English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English and any other two subjects.
The brochure also contains special conditions for schools such as AUN, FED-DUTSE, LAGOS, ILORIN, KWASU, SLUK and SOSU. Candidates should therefore check the specific institution before registration.
Before Submitting Your O'Level Details
Use SSCE and the applicable equivalent qualifications where supported by the institution. Most importantly, keep the requirements for English Language separate from those belonging to English Language and Literature, English Studies or English and Literary Studies.
