JAMB Allows Candidates to Upload O’Level Results From Home Without Visiting CBT Centres

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new arrangement that allows candidates to verify and upload their O’level results from the comfort of their homes without necessarily visiting a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.

The development is aimed at making the O’level result upload process easier, faster and more convenient for candidates. Under the new arrangement, JAMB can verify candidates’ results directly with the examination bodies responsible for issuing the results, beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

JAMB Introduces Home O’level Result Upload

The development was announced by JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement shared on X.

According to the Board, the new arrangement allows candidates to complete the process from home while JAMB undertakes verification directly with the relevant examination bodies.

This means candidates may no longer need to make an unnecessary trip to a CBT centre simply to complete an O’level result upload, where the new verification arrangement applies.

“Consequently, candidates can now upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, while the Board undertakes the verification of such results directly with the issuing examination bodies.”

Why JAMB Introduced the New Arrangement

JAMB said the initiative is part of its effort to provide services that are easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.

The Board explained that using technology to reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres would also help reduce queues and some of the challenges associated with manual O’level result uploads.

The new arrangement is also intended to address issues such as:

1. Misplaced or mixed-up paper results.
2. Presentation of unverified or fraudulent results.
3. Errors in manually entering subjects and grades.
4. Delays associated with manual verification and upload processes.

Through the integration of JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies, results can be checked against the records of the issuing examination bodies before being downloaded into candidates’ profiles.

How Candidates Can Verify Their O’level Results

Candidates who want to use the verification service are required to obtain a verification code before proceeding with the O’level upload process.

Verification Process

1. Visit buyresultsverificationcode.ng.
2. Enter your NIN and select the option to verify the NIN.
3. Select the number of sittings required and the appropriate examination body or bodies.
4. Enter your email address and GSM number.
5. Proceed to payment through the available payment options.
6. After successful payment, enter the required examination details, including your examination number, examination series and examination year.
7. Verify the result or results for the selected number of sittings and obtain your Verification Code.

How to Upload the O’level Result

After obtaining the verification code, candidates can proceed with the upload process as outlined in the new arrangement.

1. Send “VERIFY” followed by your Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
2. Your result will be uploaded and you will receive a notification.
3. Candidates with two sittings will be notified to visit their profile on JAMB e-Facility.
4. On the e-Facility dashboard, select 2026 UTME O’Level Upload.
5. Enter your Verification Code.
6. Your verified results will be displayed.
7. Select the required subjects from the displayed results.
8. Click Apply the O’Level Results.
9. After a successful upload, you will receive a notification confirming the submission.

Important Requirement for Selecting Subjects

Candidates using the two-sitting option should pay careful attention when selecting subjects from their verified results.

JAMB stated that candidates must select a minimum of five subjects and a maximum of nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once.

Candidates should therefore ensure that the subjects selected correctly reflect the O’level requirements applicable to their intended course and institution.

What the New JAMB Arrangement Means for Candidates

The new arrangement could make the O’level result upload process considerably more convenient for candidates, particularly during periods when CBT centres experience high patronage or network-related difficulties.

Instead of relying entirely on manual uploads at CBT centres, candidates can now have their results verified through JAMB’s integration with the relevant examination bodies.

This also provides an additional layer of verification because the result can be checked against the records held by the issuing examination body.
